Kelly & James are married!

Sunday, January 18, 2009

I am wayyyy behind on posting this wedding! It was my last wedding of the season and it was such a fabulous wedding to end on. Kelly put so much work into making it a gorgeous day at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. We were surprised by a little bit of rain on the day of the wedding, but luckily they were prepared with a large tent that kept us covered the whole day. We lucked out and didn't get rained on during any of the portraits before and after the ceremony outside of the tent. The lighting was just gorgeous all day long despite a few rain drops.

I had a ton of fun having Andrejka 2nd shoot for me, as well as getting some help from, Allan, one of my grooms from a couple years ago who is just getting into photography.

The details from all the other vendors were just breathtaking!
Flowers: Nico Designs

Here are all of the gorgeous details from the day...

I have done quite a few weddings with Nico now, but I must say this was by far the best one I have seen from him! All the different orchids and the way he incorporated them into the whole design of the day was simply amazing!

Check out these fabulous centerpieces!

Have you ever seen fruit so beautifully placed in an arrangement before!?

He even used coffee beans!

One of the biggest highlights from their wedding was the dancing! Not only did Kelly blow us all away by her awesome dance moves, her Mom & Dad surprised everyone with a choreographed dance just for Kelly and James.

January Pictage Meeting -Mike Larson!

Friday, January 16, 2009

Each month I host an informative PUG (Pictage User Group) meeting for our local Santa Barbara Pictage photographers. I wanted to kick off the new year with a fabulous meeting, so I asked the extremely talented destination wedding photographer based out of San Luis Obispo, Mike Larson to come speak to the group. My wonderful friend and fellow Pictager, Andrejka opened up her cute home to host the meeting for us on Wednesday. A big thank you to both Mike and Andrejka!!!

Mike's topic that he shared with the group was about Leadership & Influence. Here is a quick snippet of what he shared...
"When it comes to our clients, they want to follow leaders, they want to be inspired, led, and influenced. When we know how to do this better, we build a reputation of being a successful leader in the industry and with our past clients. This directly results into increased clients. And lets face it, in an industry where there is much less to separate us from others, our gear bags are similar, and our websites are from the similar companies, who we are is our biggest degree of separation. This is the least expensive area to grow and develop. I believe in this photography industry, today’s leaders are going to be tomorrow’s success stories. Be a leader in your industry, you don't have to be nationally recognized to succeed, but you will have a business that will grow and stay prosperous in a recession."

We had such a great turnout and welcomed a few newbies to the group as well. If you have questions about how to become a pictage member as a photographer and how to join our monthly meetings, please contact me for more information! info@kaciejean.com

The Nico Designs Team!

Friday, January 2, 2009

I absolutely adore the entire Nico Designs team and was so excited to photograph all of them so they could update their website with some recent photos. I swear they could all be models! I bet you can't even tell this location is in Santa Barbara. I love the urban feel to it! It's actually their new location for their office off of Patterson.

Ummm... can you say GQ model please!!!

Family Portraits - Savannah Chanelle Winery

Over the Thanksgiving vacation I spent an extra few days up north doing some family portraits at the beautiful Savannah Chanelle Winery in Saratoga. It was so nice to get a little change of scenery and different weather then I'm used to here in Santa Barbara.

Here is the Yeats Family with their cute new baby boy

And here is the Jetpur family with their two adorable little kids
