Welcome to my blog! My name is Kacie and I am in love! I am in love with my amazing husband, and my two adorable little girls. I am in love with everything that has to do with weddings and I absolutely love cute little families and adorable chubby babies! Nothing makes me happier than to be able to capture all the love that surrounds this beautiful world and to share it with my clients. I try to keep up with my blog every few days, so be sure to check back often for all the fun things I'm working on!

A day at the park!

Thursday, May 29, 2008

I had a fun day at the park with my cute little neighbor Jack today. I've posted a few times about my neighbors and how fast they are growing up, but now they are REALLY growing up fast. Jack is now walking and Peri just learned to ride a 2-wheeler without her training wheels!

I offered to help out and babysit for a few hours this morning and figured this would be a great chance to get some more pictures of little Jack. I packed him up in the stroller and walked down the street to the park. We stopped by the coffee shop to meet my husband Jason for a few minutes first.

Jack is seriously the happiest kid I have ever seen! He has the cutest smile and wants to hug everyone that passes by.

May Pictage meeting with Justin & Mary Marantz

I was so excited a few months back when I got an email from Mary saying that her and Justin would love to include Santa Barbara in their list of PUG's (Pictage User Group) to visit. Justin and Mary are two fabulous photographers who came all the way from the East Coast just to speak to our group about their awesome business model. They have such a special way of taking on new clients and making them feel like a million bucks! They truly inspired all of us and I don't think we will ever view the relationships we build with our clients the same every again!

We had such a great turnout for this month's meeting, and I feel bad for the others in the group that couldn't make it, because it was definitely one of the best meetings we've had since I have been the group leader. This meeting couldn't have come at a more perfect time for me since I am currently working on getting a new logo and brand for my business. I can definitely take little pieces of what they shared with us and integrate it in my new brand.

I love our little group and it's always so nice to end the night openly sharing with all the other fabulous photographers in town.

Kelly & James' Engagement Session

Thursday, May 22, 2008

Stacks of hay, a row boat, tire swing, lots oak trees, and a golf cart...are all the fun things we got to take pictures with during Kelly & James' photo session. And to believe this was all in Santa Barbara! I love when my clients bring me to new places that I've never photographed at before.

It was extremely windy all day, and I was questioning if we should even go ahead with the shoot. Well, we ended up just going for it and lucky us - the wind stopped blowing for our entire shoot! As soon as I got back home, it started up again! I made a joke that it must have been my good luck since I got pooped on by a bird in the beginning of the shoot! :) (TMI, I know!)

Anyways, here are the adorably fun pictures of Kelly & James!

Having fun racing around in the golf cart...

The fun ended... Here they are pushing it all the way back to the garage

Cal Poly Grad!

Monday, May 19, 2008

Emily is graduating from Cal Poly in a less then a month and called me to get some headshots done to use for her announcements. The fabulously talented Tawni Jones of 19 Blue Salon did her hair and makeup. (If you ever need to get dolled up for a special event, you HAVE to call Tawni!)

All I can say is... what a beautiful girl and what AMAZING light!

These were all shot with completely natural light with my Canon 100mm macro lens.
There was no photoshop done to any of these images (Emily is just that beautiful!)

April & Eddie are married!

I had the pleasure of photographing April & Eddie's wedding this past Saturday out in Westlake. I loved the whole style of their wedding from the dresses, the shoes, the hair...

Here's a cute shot of the newly married couple

The AMAZING dress!

The rockin' shoes!

This photo courtesy of my awesome 2nd photographer for the day Brion Hopkins.

Isn't April one of the most beautiful brides you have ever seen?!

Handsome Eddie!

Look how adorable the girls are all dressed up in their black dresses and cute hairdos

Another cool shot from Brion!
